A packed out Penistone Paramount enjoyed a rousing concert from Skelmanthorpe Band and debutants New Mill Male Voice Choir on Saturday 14th December.
Rob Westacott once again led the band superbly, treating the audience to a selection of festive music including John Golland’s ‘Christmas Overture’, Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s ‘Christmas Finale’ and the crowd favourite ‘White Christmas’.
In addition to the joint items ‘Swain Hark’ and ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ the band were also unexpectedly involved in a raucous version of the ’12 days of Christmas’ led by the choir and sung by the audience. The 12 drummers were certainly in no doubt of what their task was once the band got involved!
Our thanks go to all involved at the Rotary Club for organising another fantastic concert as well as to the members of New Mill MVC for a great evening of music. We hope to return again next year!
