The Skelmanthorpe Band was very proud to play a part in the wedding of our cornet player Kathryn Hunt to Adam Bell. Kathryn has been a member of the Skelmanthorpe Community for many years, as was Adam before he left to take up the baton.
A small group from the band performed in the church as guests arrived and played The Lost Chord as Kathryn was escorted down the aisle by her brother Tom, another member of the cornet team at Skelmanthorpe. The newly married couple left the church to the Hornpipe from Handel’s Water Music.
The full band was on hand to greet everyone arriving for the reception at King’s Croft in Pontefract in glorious sunshine. The music continued until the guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast. On behalf of the whole Skelmanthorpe Band Community, we with Mr and Mrs Bell a long and happy marriage!
